Our Services

Our Services

No business is immune from risk but some industries are more prone to certain threats than others.

Our risk management team is well versed in identifying threats specific to a variety of industry sectors and to tailoring services to meet our clients’ individual requirements.

Our wide range of services can be designed to meet the needs of organisations of all sizes and include:

Fire Risk Assessments (Fire (Scotland) Act 2005)

We offer a comprehensive evaluation of your business or organisation aimed at understanding and mitigating the risk of fire within any business premises. This involves assessing various factors such as the layout of the premises, the activities carried out, the types of occupancy, potential fire hazards, and the effectiveness of existing fire safety measures

SSOW (Safe Systems of Work) / Method Statements

Creating Safe Systems of Work (SSOWs) / Method Statements based on our thorough risk assessments is crucial for ensuring the health and safety of employees in any business. By conducting these risk assessments our consultants can implement a tailored safe system of work or Method Statements (focus on high-risk, complex and unusual work) for carrying out workplace tasks. Businesses can create a culture of safety and ensure compliance with Health and Safety Regulations.

Fire Safety / Fire Warden & Awareness Training

In a business, Fire Safety / Fire Warden training is not optional, it is a legal requirement under the Fire (Scotland) Act 2005. This Legislation mandates that all companies appoint and provide adequate training for all employees and where necessary, appoint Fire Wardens to ensure the safety of their employees and visitors to their premises in the event of any emergency. By arranging training that recognises these legal obligations, your organization is not only ensuring compliance but also prioritizing the safety and well-being of its staff and visitors.

Manual Handling Training

We offer full training on Correct Manual Handling activities which can be crucial in maintaining everyday health and preventing workplace injuries, particularly for those who regularly engage in lifting tasks. In many jurisdictions, providing training on safe carrying and lifting techniques is indeed a legal requirement whenever employees are involved in activities that involve lifting, lowering, pulling, or pushing as part of their everyday duties. Our experienced consultants can help by providing training to reduce the risk of musculoskeletal injuries to ensure that employees are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to perform these tasks safely and effectively.

Fire door survey’s

What’s involved in a Fire Door Inspection?
The report will outline the existing condition and adequacy of the fire door sets, and where necessary, recommend improvements that should be undertaken to make your buildings compliant with statutory requirements and best practice guidance, or to meet a specific business resilience objective.

Fire Compartment Survey

If you have had a Fire Risk Assessment carried out on your premises, one of the action points on your “Fire Action Plan “could be a recommendation to have a Fire Compartmentation Survey undertaken. This tends to be the case where the Fire Risk Assessor has identified numerous breaches in fire compartment walls, ceilings and floors, and feels that the fire compartments within a building is likely to be compromised in a fire situation. A Fire Compartmentation Survey is intrusive and involves investigative works within roof spaces, ceiling and floor voids, as well as within service rises, behind boxings etc. The objective is to assess whether the existing fire compartment walls (including doors within them), floors and ceilings within the property are likely to restrict the potential spread of fire and smoke for the required period of time (i.e. the time required to enable escape).

Commercial and Domestic Legionella Risk Assessments

Regardless of where your water comes from, new Scottish legislation states that landlords who rent out entire properties or even a room within their home have a legal duty to ensure the health and safety of their tenants by conducting a Legionella Risk Assessment. Any water system that stores and/or recirculates water is at high risk of breeding excess amounts of legionella. Below are a few water vessels that should be considered for a regular legionella risk assessment. Hot water tanks Cold storage tanks Hot tubs Swimming pools Our Consultants provide various forms of risk assessment services across Scotland, including Glasgow. We service private businesses, hotels, Airbnbs, holiday lets and domestic properties. If you’re a landlord or property manager, our expert assessors can help you with legionella risk assessments and rudimental water testing.
